Australian marriages are recognised in all countries of the world. A copy of the Australian government registration of the marriage is forwarded to overseas couples at their home address within 8 weeks of the wedding.
One of these documents is the blue form, which is called the "Notice of Intended Marriage" form. This must be completed, signed and witnessed by an appropriate person (authorised celebrant, Justice of the Peace, Australian Diplomatic Officer, Australian Consular Officer, etc.) and be in our office at least one month plus one day before the date of the wedding.
